I understand FIRST CLASS is FIRST CLASS regardless of FFP status. But the observation I was trying to make is the fact that being PPS, the greetings used to be something like this "Welcome Back Mr. XXX. Ms YYY will take you to your seat... etc etc..." For non-PPS status, the greeter will omit the word "back." Just "Welcome aboard Mr. XXX..."

Anyhow, since you bring this up, I am envious to know that 5 out of 6 you were escorted to your seat and you have two FAs helping you. I generally find only one would escort, help and take the jacket. The reason is being more than one F pax while boarding and only two cabin crew in F, i.e. the green kebaya girl (LSS) and the guy (LS). The IFS is usually the greeter.
Point well taken on the greeting and the fact you were using the word back.....i.e. Welcome Back Mr. XXX and how this reflected towards PPS members....

As for the greeting/helping in F, there are between 2 and 3 people depending on the load. This excludes the Director of Service. There is one person who would take you to your seat once being greeted at the entrance of the aircraft. This person taking you inside may not necessarily be the person you were greeted by. Then there is a 2nd person already awaiting either in the F cabin itself or in the gallery between the door entrance to the aircraft and the F section. Again, this would vary and sometimes you may directly speak to the Director of Service. Hence, there is usually 2 FA's ready to help if needed, whether with your carryon (definitely in my case) or your jacket, magazines/newspapers, initial drinks, etc.

I should clarify that I am referring to the above on long-haul SQ flights on my regular routing. Not that it would/should be any different on short haul flights, e.g. SIN-BKK, etc.

    Cheers.

Agree with SQ LPP, the feeling is so different when the crew welcomes you back. Sure miss that kind of treatment. I am sure SQ can come up with a new type of sticker to differentiate the PPS.

Since they are concerned with fraudulent use of PPS stickers, they can make special PPS/Solitaire boarding passes (like they did for Solitaire ex-SIN before). Thus it is more controllable.

UA issues special gold colored boarding passes for their elites/premium class customers.

Good point and fully agree with you, StarG. Hope they don't forget the lowly QPPs.

But knowing the abundance of penny pinching execs at SQ, I seriously doubt they will increase costs by producing a special boarding pass.

            True.
This will mean 3 different sets of BPs in all stations (regular, QPP, TPP).
I think an easier solution is to make the status printed in larger, easier to read format for Q/TPPS passengers.
Notice how LH print their white luggage tags (not the colorful priority tags) with large font "PRIORITY" (black & white inversed) for eligible customers?

Load factor is excellent in SQ's J and F Cabins and Priority Passengers are less useful now and more an expense item. Economies rules. SQ will need another airline downturn to renew their interest in Priority Passengers. A fact of life that we have live with. What to do except to be "LL" about it.

Agree with SQ LPP's observation. It is the small little things like these that makes one feel being welcomed back.

I just flew 7 sectors on SQ in the last week and I have had a mixed experience with the "Welcome back" or not.
To be fully honest, I was not paying much attention to it on the first sector, but then having seen this thread, I did pay attention.
On CMB sectors, I was greeted with "Welcome back".
On the next 4 sectors, no "back" either. But on all those, the IFS came and said "welcome back" after I was seated.
So if you do not get it at the door, it seems you should still get the recognition you are a loyal customer when you are in your seat.

You are very lucky indeed with "the recognition you are a loyal customer when you are in your seat." My percentage in this case is very low. Of course the memorable one was on the SQ319 A380 inaugural flight from London. Otherwise no IFS came and said "welcome back" after I was seated. Hmm they must have known that I am the person to be avoided in the aircraft.

I got a "welcome back" the other weekend ... but on CX J SIN-BKK! I was really quite surprised given (i) I only had my BAEC number on the BP (but read somewhere that CX track your flights independenty of the FFP number entered); (ii) I have no MPO status; and (iii) no BP sticker.

Edit: Oh, I just remembered that there were only 3 of us in J so that may have had something to do with the "welcome back" and the really superb service during the flight including the CSM greeting (usually the case with OW emeralds I think) and an offer of ice cream before landing (which I didn't get on my last CX SIN-BKK flight).

Well, very minor things really and nowhere near the treatment a TPP/LPP gets from a good SQ crew.
