Default Scoot 789 incdent in Perth

Interestingly dont think have read about this Sccot ncident in the local media.

"Incident: Scoot B789 near Perth on Oct 11th 2018, uncommanded engine shut down in flight
By Simon Hradecky, created Friday, Oct 12th 2018 21:20Z, last updated Friday, Oct 12th 2018 21:20Z
A Scoot Airlines Boeing 787-900, registration 9V-OJE performing flight TR-16 from Singapore (Singapore) to Perth,WA (Australia), was descending towards Perth when the right hand engine (Trent 1000) shut down without command. The crew continued the approach for a safe landing on Perth's runway 21.

The return flight TR-17 was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

Australia's TSB reported: "While descending into Perth, there was an uncommanded in-flight shut down of the right engine. The flight crew continued the approach and the aircraft landed safely." The occurrence was rated an incident and is being investigated."

Just reading the comments. Does Scoot use both GE and RR engines on the 787. Doesn't seem economic?

SIA group aircrafts always choose RR engines if there is a choice given, including Scoot.

Yes, ever since the purchase of the 777s, SQ group has consistently opted for RR Trent engines at least on their widebodies (772s, A380s, 787s) when the choice was available. Only the 77Ws are equipped with the GE90-115Bs because that is the only engine option, ditto the incoming 777-9s.

Previously, i believe SQ was a staunch P&W customer, with all the B744s at least sporting P&W powerplants. Hence, the decision to choose RR Trents on the 777s when P&W was an option was considered a surprise then, if i'm not wrong.
