Looks like Australia, Brunei, China, New Zealand and Vietnam are possible countries that SG hopes to woo, but i don't think they are that keen to open up so soon for leisure travel. |

![]() Think our govt shoud not be overly too eager to open up as can see nowadays there's been quite a few imported cases daily for the past months. Even countries like Vietnam and Thailand, NZ and China which have almost no new cases are not so keen to open up as yet.

![]() Most of these countries can have domestic tourism. Unlike Singapore.

![]() It's just too bad that SG has no domestic "travel", but really...our country shouldn't go about trying to impress the world by being the "first to open up".
It quite pisses me off to know that these travel bubble ideas are in some sense vanity projects pushed through by certain ministers. What happened with HK was already a warning signal that it's still too early and risky. Short term pain for long term gain. SG should focus on opening up domestically and remaining clean from Covid first. Sorry, just my thoughts ![]() |

As for how long to stay closed and/or when to reopen borders. That's the million dollar question, for everyone. Nobody want this virus to spread (or return in some cases) but the damage done by staying closed indefinitely also starts to build, especially for countries and industries that rely heavily on tourists and business visitors, like Singapore, Thailand etc. |

![]() Singapore now have unilaterally open up air links to allow Taiwanese to come in without quarantine, in addition to visitors from Australia, NZ, China and one of 2 more countries. But these are on Singapore side only and these countries have not opened up their borders to us.
