One of the largest aircraft landing into Kathmandu I believe.

Interesting to note that in addition to SVB/C/E that are parked at ASP, the 7x 772s which were transferred to Nokscoot have been flown to ASP for storage as well, rather than to the scrapyards. (Nokscoot has been officially dissolved).

Wonder why they chose to store those a/c rather than scrap them. SVB/C/E as well, since the likes of SVM, SRM, SQN etc have all gone the other way.

Yup these ex Nok planes are at least 19 years old - not sure why SIA is sending them to be parked as it does cost some storage expenses instead of just scrapping these planes as doubt they could be resold as they are close to 20 years old.

Six former NokScoot Boeing 777-200s have been re-registered to Singapore Airlines:

9V-SRG (was HS-XBB)
9V-SRH (was HS-XBC)
9V-SRJ (was HS-XBD)
9V-SRL (was HS-XBE)
9V-SRP (was HS-XBF)
9V-SRQ (was HS-XBG)

All aircraft are stored in ASP.

Wow, that’s a lot of 772s to deal with for SQ...what are their options?

What happened to 9V-SRF/HS-XBA?

[s]Scoot, maybe? Scoot may be able to get them to work, since 777 and 787 share a type rating...[/s]

[s]Or maybe SQ is just handling the disposal/re-lease.[/s]

EDIT: Oops I just realized I replied to a 4 month old post. What happened to them, anyway?

The ex-Scoot-Nok 772s are 19 years to 20 years old and SIA will try to sell these planes if at all possible whilst its in storage and will part them out if they cant be sold. Doubt Scoot will ever take these 772s back as they have the newer 787s, and do not think the 777 and 787 share the same type rating for the pilots.
