Although not perfect I have to say I am quite surprised at how generous Marriot have been. Just about every blog I read before the announcement basically said that platinum as we had known it under SPG would not start until 75 nights. But the final outcome has platinum starting at 50 nights and the increase at 75 and 100 being quite minimal in my opinion.

Unfortunately this means that it is still worth my while trying to get lifetime platinum
