I am going to the US in a few weeks. Is there any way for foreign visitors to get a prepaid debit Visa/Mastercard there? Thanks for your inputs!

Try this one : http://www.cashpassport.com/1/en/us/ usually at airports.
And I know that you can buy prepaid Mastercard , Visa and American Express cards in most drug stores (read: pharmacies) .. Just be sure to bring along your ID.
