BKK Now Has CIP Fastrack

I flew into BKK on SQ 980 in C on Feb. 5th and got one along w/ the rest of the cabin.

I hope this isn't a cost cutting initiative, but a one time fluke in your case.

I can't see it myself, unless they think due to the drop in numbers going through BKK now it's not needed. There were three others in F and I didn't see anyone else with them so maybe it was a one-off, which is not like SQ. Great crew though, especially the LSS who was an absolute star.

It took under 10 mins to get through and I had checked luggage for a change so I had to wait for that anyway. I find Fast Track a little pointless if you do have checked luggage, although I suppose it's nicer to be hanging around at the luggage carousel (if the words 'nicer' and 'luggage carousel' can ever be used in the same sentence) rather than in a queue. I think ?!.

Suvarnabhumi is certainly no Changi when it comes to getting your luggage quick, despite SQ always using the low D gates nearby.

Came into BKK yesterday and again got no Fast Track card during the flight. While stood waiting for the door to open I asked the FSS if they had stopped doing them. She then clicked into gear and grabbed a pile from the bag near the door and started handing them out as we disembarked.

As it happens immigration was dead and I didn't even need to queue (gotta love how quiet this place is at the moment ) so I've kept it for another occassion.

As it happens immigration was dead and I didn't even need to queue (gotta love how quiet this place is at the moment ) so I've kept it for another occassion.

That's what I do with Australian express immigration. I have a stash (of various airlines) with me in case needed (eg QF annoyingly no longer hands them out on trans-tasman flights).

Did the same again on Saturday and didn't use the card, although this time the IFS on SQ976 went round the cabin before take-off handing out the Fast Track Cards.

Flying LH F out last night they handed out the cards at check-in, whereas before the got a staff member to escort you through. Again looking at the normal immigration queue's it probably only saved a few minutes. When things finally get back to normal in Bangkok (whenever that will be...) then these cards will be very handy, as immigration in and out is a PITA.

Have arrived into BKK a few times on TG recently and strangely enough they do not seem to hand out Fast Track cards to their own arriving J pax.

I asked their cabin crew about that previously too, it seems they don't think it's necessary. I find the Fast Track significantly under-utilised.

Somehow, it occurred roughly the same time that First got dropped on SIN-BKK... somehow a link? Maybe, maybe not - alot of the time I get directed to the blue lanes now anyhow (for J).

The Fast Track cards were handed out to all J pax yesterday, but only after they were specifically requested by one of the pax. They weren't needed though cos there wasn't any queue at immigration and I kept mine for another time.

Came in this afternoon at C2 so close in. Unfortunately not inbound in F this time so no escort, so I set off at speed to immigration. Got there and it was heaving, with loads more coming in as well. I was looking at at least 20 minutes and was cursing when I thought 'A-ha, I still have those Fast Track Cards in the bag!'.

I dug one out and walked round the corner and there was half a dozen empty VIP immigration desks. So I plonked my docs and the card down and waltzed though in a minute.

Good one. I've also got a small stash of fast track cards for various airports which I keep in my carryon.

Good to see SQ are still handing them out for outbound pax from BKK as well. Last night the queue at immigration was horrendous but there was nobody in the CIP bit.

SQ only hands them out if you're flying J... if you're *G (and I believe even if you are KFEG), you don't get the fast track.

I'll be bringing my final SQ Fast Track with me tonight... hope I don't have to use it this trip unless absolutely necessary.

They are renovating the 'main thoroughfare' towards the regular Y immigration section now. And it is a complete mess. CHOC-A-BLOC FULL of pax coming in at 11PM local time tonight.

Taking of the TG flight, I swapped to 11A (not allowed to book in advance) at checkin and after seeing the 773 parked up on a remote gate I wondered if it had gone tech and it has, as a TG 744 has just landed.

I wonder what config it is...
