He must be stalking SQTalkers as I have just walked into the Rose Lounge at SGN and he is sat in here, also on SQ185.

Well fancy that, I walked in at 00:45 on the Sunday morning and stayed til they closed (they were only showing the football for like 15 mins then had to close. Boo! )

Their 'new hire' took good care of us! Cedric joined in for a Jagerbomb too

Things shouldn't have "vastly improved" as they should always be stellar -- as many of us have experienced.

RC does have a nice family.

Aehm me stalking? I don't think so, I was first in the lounge and you came later. And don't complain because I could provide you with one of 3 seats I was occupying in an otherwise crowded lounge

BTW, I still can't believe you weren't keen to switch your seat with my 52G super nice bulkhead.

I once knew a 42DD super nice redhead. Perhaps that might have been more tempting

Err, if it wasn't for the fact you need you 'hand holding' as you are still a bit of a Saigon Virgin , I may have opted for Illy Coffe rather than the lounge.

Or maybe demanded both, like that nasty lady at check-in.

Sinkholes in Thailand airport causing flight delays

Sinkholes delay flights; govt, AOT urged to take prompt action to prevent loss of confidence. -Nation/ANN

                  The Nation/Asia News Network

Executives in the aviation and tourism industries have called on the government and Airports of Thailand (AOT) to work together more closely to maintain Suvarnabhumi Airport's safety standards after two sinkholes were found on the west runway on Thursday night, causing delays.

Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn, president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents, said the problems at the airport would hurt foreign travellers' confidence if they were not solved.

"The government should have clear measures to take care of the airport and air traffic in cases where unexpected situations arise,'' he said, adding that news of problems at the airport circulates around the world quickly, hurting the country's image.

AOT closed the west runway from 8.30-9.30pm on Thursday night for repairs after two sinkholes were found. One was 60cm wide, 60cm long and 5cm deep.

Had an SQ flight into BKK last Friday that was delayed 30 min due to the runway closure. No trouble flying out of BKK on Monday with TG, but my colleague's flight the next day was delayed almost an hour leaving BKK in the morning due to runway closure again.

I am passing through the place six times in the space of eight days later this month, so an hour each time would be a real PITA.

I know, it serves me right for flying TG and through BKK....

It is just a lucky dip for sure, twice last month it was ok for both arr/dep, my only time this moth it was a nightmare.

If they had the directions to security/immigration better signed on departure that would certainly help.

The new single line system apon arriving at immigration seems to work a little better, when it is properly staffed and allowed to flow. Same on departure, the security area flows much better and also immigration, they just need to get better at getting people up the escalator better to begin with.

Not too bad last week in and out of BKK with just the one notable delay. Three arrivals in more or less on time with no circling and of the three deprtures only one (early TG flight to RGN) suffered a delay, which was about an hour in the end. I don't know what was going on that day but TG JCL check-in was a zoo with 10 deep to each desk and the private immigration check point for TG JCL pax was that bad I walked back out through the scanners and went through the Premier Lane in the main bit.

The do seem to have finished the work on the runway, which is visible when you are flying downwind or turning back past, and you can see the big patch of new tarmac. They seem to have started patching up the next bit of the swamp, which is the taxiway near the domestic/remote gates.
