  • SIN-NRT in Y on NH

Went for our annual ski trip to Hokkaido over Christmas. Good snow/skiing, great food. Thought I'd share my flights with you.

    Onward flights were:
    1. SIN-NRT by 767-300ER
    2. HND-CTS by 744 ( no pics )

    Return flights were:
    3. CTS-NRT by CRJ
    4. NRT-SIN by 767-300ER

    SIN-NRT

I look forward to the pre-flight departure rituals. Booking the trip, packing, ride to the airport, checking in, the wait to board.
Over the years, the actual flight has lost it's appeal! At least I get to fly my favorite aircraft again, NH's 767-300ER.

The economy section is divided into a main cabin and a mini-cabin just behind the business class cabin.
Seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration.

At check-in, my daughter and I were given a pair of window seats in the main cabin. However, at the gate, we managed to get into the mini-cabin.
According to SeatGuru, best seats are the EMEX ones ie row 22 ABFG. I would add row 15 BCEF. I sat in 15C. Daughter in 15D.

They gave a bun for supper and salmon on rice for breakfast. Sorry not picture worthy.

    The Mini-Cabin

I was sitting in seat 15C right behind the business class cabin.

So near yet so far...at least my toes travelled in J class!

Beautiful sunrise prior to arrival at NRT

Disembarking. A glimpse of my favorite aircraft in daylight

          CTS-NRT

We were lucky to be able to leave CTS when we did. Snow storms forced numerous flight cancellations/delays on the days before and after our flight.
I was excited to be flying a CRJ for the first time. Felt like my own private jet!

My window seat in row 1. Adequate legroom but narrow fuselage meant that I couldn't look out the window without knocking my head against the inward arching fuselage

          IFE was BYO

Disembarking at NRT. Note pilot waving for the camera!

              NRT-SIN

Family headed for Tokyo on 3 separate flights. Reunited, wife and I flew back in J. Kids in Y. The business class cabin seating is 2-1-2 configuration

IFE is NH weak point IMHO. Inadequate English programs, non noise canceling headsets, small screen

But I can't complain about the food!

              Thanks for watching!

I've always been curious about NH Y. Now finally a TR about it! Nice, 9V-SIA. How comfortable did you find the seats?

                My two favorites so far:

That was cute, like a number of things they do in Japan. But are you sure he wasn't saying, "Nooo! I didn't gel my hair this morning!!!"

Good on you. Train 'em while they're young.

                    Hard.

                    Inadequate recline.

                    Not enough legroom ( 31" only ).

I wouldn't mind so much on a day flight but torture on a red eye.

Luckily a regional flight so I wasn't totally bent out of shape.

And I had extra stretch room in my seat, of course

PS Could you delete reserve 6 for me? Ta!

thanks for the TR... am considering NH to LAX so it was very useful.

I really think the CAPT was saying "NO! you cant take pictures here!"
