HKG - 50 minute layover, possible?

Has anyone ever have this kind of short connection at HKG?

To save repeating a post I made earlier this year:

Last year, I was on BA inbound to HKG which was very late connecting to CX. Immediately after deplaning, there were lots of CX people holding signboards with names (including mine) and the person assigned to my CX flight (there was only me) rushed me to and through security and then a long sprint (with me carrying my heavy hand luggage) to the departing gate. We got there just as boarding was well in progress.

I wouldn't have made it without the CX escort hurrying me along!

Thanks, I think I will take my chance to go with this 40 mintues connecting time at HKG (keep my fingers cross) since it is not at my fault for LH to retime the ex-FRA flight to 30 minutes later.

Its fine if you're banking on LH making it to HK in time. If your flight is even delayed by 5 mins, you'll miss your connection. I would advise aeroplan (as I assume that this is an award ticket otherwise why would you be booking via AC), they must rebook you on a later SQ flight. Otherwise you will misconnect and SQ may not be as accomodating if they cannot touch your reservation as per instructions from AC.

No airport in Asia has been able to do such a tight MCT except SIN.

Not for SIN for sure, especially if you need to transfer between terminals.
However, did that in HKG and Narita serveral times. Seem no trouble.
