Fairly unlikely. 346 is headed for SYD tonight, I don't think there is enough time to turnaround the a/c after a BKK-SIN-BKK TG409/410 jaunt.

Thought I'd revive this thread since I don't want to divert someone's current TR, but two weeks ago, just had a flight end-Feb on TG NRT-BKK, in old F but I was pleasantly surprised by THE BEST TG SERVICE I've ever encountered on TG. Ever.

Every crew member in the F cabin went so far out of their way to make the (barely) mid-haul flight the best service it could be. It was as good as my best SQ F experience, if not better (probably better since there were three attentive TG crew members, instead of SQ's one). Landing at BKK, was escorted by buggy despite a later J connection to SIN into the TG F lounge, followed by the spa.

Thumbs up to TG on that one!

It was subsequently followed by the worst TG J (BKK-SIN) flight I've ever encountered on any carrier so far. Gate was C9 (they actually wrote, I think by marker pen, ON the gate pillar that First/Business to turn left, on the metal wall). Flight had no air-conditioning (although they kept insisting four times that it would 'come on later'). The salmon starter was dry as paper. The plane was falling to bits. I'm glad the plane reached Singapore safely.

      Too much inconsistency!

They are indeed inconsistent. On one BKK-KUL flight, the cabin crew were much more friendly than usual and were very efficent and helpful. They even offered pillows to some pax. Near SQ standard I would say. On another BKK-KUL flight they were so lazy and never broke a smile. When I asked for some juice they told me they didn't conduct drink service on this sector. They even landed with some trays still on the tray table! Amazing
        Cabin Crew, takeoff stations...

Well, they've TG'd me again. Tonights TG925 from MUC has been swapped to the sh*tty old version. I fired off an email to my contact in London yesterday when I saw the seatmap and within an hour I had an email from TG in MUC confirming the swap and apologising.

While that in itself was pretty good, they had a comment in the reply that called it 'an unexpected change', which I pointed out was nonsense as MUC is regularly getting swapped.

Oh well, I am more than aware that these things happen regularly as I fly them enough. I wonder when, or if, they will ever learn how much this annoys people......

I know this is your most direct route, but I'm wondering when you'll reach your breaking point and add in another stop.

Thanks for the info MAN Flyer

Unfortunately TG BKK-MUC is the only route that has award availability for my date at the moment. I hope the waitlist clears so I can reroute.

And on the way to MAN last night I got message from TG in MUC happily informing me that 'we have got the good version' !!!!. I can think of no other airline on the planet capable of changing aircraft like this...

I've effectively got three choices : LHR, FRA or MUC. LHR is number 1 as the place is much more bearable these days and it rarely gets swapped. FRA also rarely gets swapped but I can't stand the airport. MUC is a fabulous airport but it regularly gets swapped. ZRH is another one and always gets the 346 so safe for product but unlike the LX flight from BKK it gets in too late to connect with the early flight to MAN, leaving hours hanging around in ZRH.

Keep an eye on it. Seats regularly pop up late for the LHR and FRA flights.

I don't mind the seat itself, it's very comfortable. It's the 2+2 and lack of IFE that the problem.

BTW, only 2 bottles of DP loaded, again.

The extra bottles of Dom was loaded into the other 747 which got sent elsewhere after your complaint.

Note to self - drink Dom early when on TG.

Seems that TG has dry leased 3 of 9W's 77Ws. EIS will be next month.

I'm happy to report there were more than 2 bottles of DP. Hopefully same applies on my return.

TG466 on April 1 in C.... missed out on welcome drink and hot towel, they just forgot me, despite being sat in my seat for about 15 mins before doors closed and EVERY other passenger (besides me and my seat partner) getting a drink! when doors closed i buzzed and mentioned it, my seat partner had also missed out. was given a champagne, had 1 gulp and then told we are taking off now (Despite engines still being started) and glass taken away. oh well, they were very apologetic.

on a good note I left my sony NC headsets on the plane in BKK, I realised 3 days later, today im back at BKK and visited Thai baggage services and they had my headset there, very impressed with that!

sqdazz, you're very fortunate to get your Sonys back, that's for sure - congrats

If you're free in BKK later this PM do leave a PM

They're very good about their baggage services. I left my QC2s and iPod nano on board a AKL-BKK flight a couple of years ago and they couriered it on to my home in the US after I got in touch with them.

Have done a search on the AKL-BKK route on TG and it shows 777-200/300. As I am planning this flight for October this year, what are my chances that I will be getting lie flat seats? Do they operate planes on this route with the older style Business seats?
