and yet somehow you managed to survive and tell the world your story. truly a display of what the human spirit can overcome. i hope that with time, and a significant expense of intensive therapy, you will be able to fully recover from this traumatic episode.

Well if taveling first class and PPS or above, you could have up to 80kg off luggage, so a porter sure helps and you are paying for one. So don`t be to hard on poor bumblebee.

Must complain! Lazy uncle porters taking tea breaks, drinking teh terik and not helping 1st class passengers with their luggage, totally unacceptable behaviour!!!

I had to wheel 80 kg of stone-laden luggage for a total distance of 50m myself too...hurt my back, broke my little toe and chipped one of my pretty manicured fingernails. I wrote a nasty complaint letter to SQ demanding compensation.

I demand to be treated like a Queen. I am a PPS, I travel first class, and I walk on red carpet only.

A service is already a service and if he paid for 1st class check-in he can complain because he paid for it, imo, especially if its an advertised service

Some very unfriendly responses to bumblebee for what is IMO a valid point:

As Singapore Sling says, it's an advertised service which wasn't available. I'd imagine the indignation if (say) there was no Krug available in SQ F despite the fact that it is after all only a drink!

I really don't see what's the difference between the above and writing that I arrived at an expensive hotel with no porters in sight and I had to take my luggage up to my room myself.

Why'd you want a porter to take your luggage up to the room when you've had no problems wheeling the bin yourself from the house to LHR, around LHR and then the final destination?

I'm cheap. I'd rather take the luggage up myself because I don't like to tip.

Is this at the curbside check-in or did the Op go to the F check-in next to the Biz row... that's what I want to know...

Coz last I was there, I was swamped by 6 uncles...

For you guys that replied with negativity, why did you assume I'm fully capable of handling my own luggage on that day? I couldn't not even walk properly that morning due to the backache and could hardly get myself off the bed!
Had to visit the chiropratic the whole week. Yes, I did survived, thanks for all your concern!

I always take the bus to LHR and it is a long walk to T3 from the bus station, so by the time I get to my destination, I am ready for someone else to take over. But do agree about the not liking to tip part, so I just don`t tip. Normally paying enough for the hotel as it is!

It's the check in for first class and solitiare. The one where they have an stand alone ICA counter. You are right, in the past swamp of uncles are there as well as the ushers.
