    The A35K is similarly sized to the 77W, that's why they are comparing both of them. 787 is a smaller aircraft, the comparison that can be done against the 787 is cost of seat per mile, while this comparison is based on fuel burn

        May be, SQ does not need replacement for A380. With more destination to the "secondary" cities, it probably reduce the needs to have massive airplane like A380 to fly to hub citiies.

          Yes SQ is in not much of a hurry to have replacement for their A380s which should see it fly for at least another 10 years and more. However if the jet fuel price goes up much higher than it is now, then it will be a different story. The only replacement now would be the Boeing 777X or the A350-1000 for the A380 for the near future. Doubt there would be quad engined plane in the making due to the efficiency of the twins.
