I have just signed up for Premiermiles recently... being dumb enuf to have blindly used my UOB Professional Plat extensively without checking the conversions. I just realised it is like $2.50 to 1 mile!!! No wonder that awful card is free for life.

At the end of the first year of my Premiermiles card, I will ask for a waiver of the $180 or is it more worthwhile to pay $180 and get that 20K miles bonus?

but these are rewards points/miles, which should be free...if pay $25 admin fee, its like "buying" them...

eg, for american express, if you want to join the membership rewards program w/o frequent traveller option, u need to pay $10, which is pretty absurd.....all other cards are free automatically..

Yup, UOB cards sucks since 2008, for transfer to krisflyer/asia miles, they need in blocks of UNI$5000, equivalent to spending S$25,000, last year was UNI$2500. Before 2008 was in blocks of UNI$250. the transfer fee was increased to S$20 from S$10 also...

even if you do not wish to transfer miles, to redeem a $50 voucher with UOB cards, you need on average UNI$3200 or spend S$16,000, compared to other banks like Standard Chartered, DBS, OCBC, HSBC, RBS, Citibank, you need to spend on average $8000 to $10,000, which is totally absurd!!

Please visit UOB's credit cards rewards page to compare:

There was no information that came with my premiermiles card detailing redemption options. The Citibank website also gave scanty information on the Premiermiles card.

Anyone knows where to get info on the FFP options, benefits of this card?

For good measure, I did a transfer of my Citi miles to my TG ROP account recently.

Call the Citi Credit Card Centre on 2nd July to activate the transfer. Physically the transferred miles hit my TG ROP account today, 9th July, exactly 7 days after I made the phone call to Citi.

Hmmm.. that's not very fast. Must be careful to take such lead time into consideration or be caught off guard.

Amex transfered mine within 24hrs even though they say that it is up to 2 weeks. UOB also transfered within 24hrs. Both to KF, so I am not sure about other FFPs.
