Future allocations of the 77WR don't seem to occur now until the extra plane is refitted. I have a booking end of next July on SQ237 which shows a 3-class layout still. There can't possibly still be a 77W or 77WN still around by then.
Yeah, it should because the A380s have S, therefore, they still can on a 77W. But yes I see your point. The fact of the matter is after the temporary A380 period MEL will get in December, that will then surely go back to 77WR in January. I know that much. End of October let's see if you guys are right.

That's true, we have SWY and soon SWW to come off as a 77WR so make that 2 extra frames unless there's a specific route being used. MEL is now 2x daily 77WR (with seasonal changes of course). Definitely should expect it to be 2-3x daily 77WR in the distant future.

    • Just got an email advising my flight on SQ217 from SIN to MEL is now a A350. Down gauge from an A380 for April. Did a dummy booking for that return date and SQ217 does not even show up for selection for Biz class. Only the other MEL flights to choose from.

Why do they do this? It's not like they can't find a 77W with 27 of them in the fleet. SQ217 is one of the most consistently packed out flights I ever fly on. Never a spare seat.

Regional J and old Y (Not even 2006 Y). It's because SWS seems to be in maintenance. Most likely it will return back to service in a few days.

At the beginning of the Northern Summer schedule, SQ237/238 will switch to 77WR.

Most days MEL has either gotten a mix of the 77W and 77WR, but somehow it ended up with a 773. I think you'll be fine but if you are flying 237/238, you should only expect a 3-class 77W unless any changes occur.

                • SQ is increasing its utilisation with the 77WR's exMEL, the plane coming off SQ227 will now operate the return SQ238, that plane will no longer sun bake in MEL for extended hours.

I was looking at the website.

The May schedules include a 2200 departure on SQ 227 from SIN, an 1100 departure on SQ 217 from SIN and a 0025 departure on SQ 237 from SIN (whee! - hope this means they will get rid of the supper and continental breakfast service and change to refreshment + breakfast)

Agree with the SQ237 meals. Last thing you want at 0100 in the sky is dinner. I have a booking on this flight in July but when I was recently notified of a change to the flight they just changed the flight number to SQ6001 then changed it back to SQ237 2 hours later. The change you outline above will actually change the date of all bookings since it moves across midnight.

I'm not too excited about SQ217 getting any later than it is already.

SQ217 from SIN at 1100 start April or earlier. Got text and email that my SQ217 flight on April 1 was rescheduled from 1045 to 1100.

So due to the 77WR utilization and changes to MEL, seems that 238 is departing an hour early to make way for its Asian connections that depart late afternoon. This new schedule is effective May 1 right? Because SQ237/238 change to a 77WR late next month and the schedule still holds the same til then.
