  • SQTalk Abbreviations, Slangs, Definitions, Phrases.........

    For those who are new to the board or are somehow lost on the numerous abbreviations & phrases used in our speaches, here are a list of translations that I am aware of or believe to be what I think it is:

    PITA = Pain In the A** (not to be confused with the Mediterranean Bread )
    Traitor Air = Cathay Pacific Airways (citation credited to CGK )
    SKL= Silver Kris Lounge
    BTW = By the way
    IIRC = If I recall correctly
    Dot Dot Dot = matters that can't be described on this forum
    Doesn't love me anymore = More of a CGK vocab (citation definately to CGK ). Displays one's broken heart when the die hard self carrier fails to fulfill his/her desire.
    IMO = In My Opinion
    IMHO = In My Humble Opinion
    TOF = The other forum (aka Flyertalk)
    TPP = Solitaire PPS
    LPP = Lifetime PPS
    Golden Bird/Goose = Term associated with SQ's animal symbol colour

    This is only a partial listing, I'm sure there are more to this. Goes to show the type of naive SQtalker I really am.

    Dot dot dot is a phrase used in Donna Sheridan's old diary at the beginning of mamma mia. Donna's daughter sophie finds the diary, and reads it with her two friends as she tries to determine which one of Donna's three possible boyfriends at the time could be sophie's dad. She naturally invites all three to her wedding, as she wants her dad to give her away.

    Dot dot dot refers to a code used in the olden days to describe matters that can't be described on this forum.....

            Does the PL refer to the pilot's lap ? I don't know what DAPO means though.

              Nice thread, Rejuvenated. Maybe it should be moved to the Community board and stickied? (Relative) newbies can then use the search function in this thread when they run across an unfamiliar term.

              What do others think?

                    I've been asking about that for at least a year and still haven't received an explanation as an answer.

                      My guess is that it refers to someone who spends most of his time in F where the only upgrade is to the little room right at the front ?!?
