  • Yes the A350 should be the largest fleet by this year, but the 772s are still not going away fast enough.

What about the A330's? From time to time, more A330's have been leaving as their leases have ended as opposed to the 777's.

What about them??? The discussion was regarding the A350 overtaking the 777 to become the largest component of the SQ fleet. It's being discussed in the A350 thread. The A330 is NOT relevant to this. If you ever bothered to scroll up three or four posts before replying this would make sense!!! #@&$!!!

I hope so too! But I have low hopes. I believe Hanoi and Saigon kept the old Ultimo seats 772 till quite late before switching to the A330

Vietnam Airlines will be flying its A350 with lie-flat biz class eats from late March from Ho Chi Minh to Changi.

Sadly the SIN-SGN sector is not at a good time for Singapore-based Business travelers. But probably this A350 is meant more to transport pax transiting onto VN’s midnight bank of long haul flights.

Singapore Airlines operates a daily 787-10 on the evening SIN-SGN-SIN flight (SQ186/185), so it’s not all bad for Singapore-based travellers.

Finally she is flying, after her delivery in 15 Dec 2018, two months idle.

Has there been any indication by SIA why it took so long for her to be slated for her first flight?

                              • apparently SGG was a "spare" plane and was not used except maybe for trainng flights. But still believe that it hould have been use earlier in rotation with the other ULR planes instead of leaving her on the ground for so long. However do feel that its a very expensive way to have a more han US$310 million aircaft to be use as a spare plane, as the US direct routes are not really very profitable flights if at all just abit above its breakeven costs.
