Of the F&B outlets downstairs, I can heartily recommend You & Mee. I eat there even when not staying at the Hyatt as I have yet to find anywhere that does a better Khao Soi, for my taste buds. I have never eaten in Spasso but have had a drink there on occasion with other SQTalkers, and it does get a bit lively.....
Thanks for the comments and the eating recommendations, MAN Flyer! I passed by the basement on the way back to my room one evening, and the F&B outlets there did look quite lively. Will keep "You & Mee" in mind if I visit again...

Went back to the Erawan earlier this week, and on one of my evenings, headed downstairs to You & Mee to try the Khao Soi, as suggested by MAN Flyer.

This was my first encounter with Khao Soi: A noodle dish with both boiled and deep fried egg noodles, in a thick, sweet, curry-like soup...

This was a really satisfying dish...not ultra spicy like some Thai dishes are, but with strong flavours and a rich, almost creamy, curry soup.

A dish I would definitely want to have again. Thanks for the recommendation, MAN Flyer!

You're welcome!. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. It's got some serious competition in that city but remains my favourite.

                  Nonsense, ask Keith.

Had a couple of stays here last week. It was, understandably, very quiet. The first time they were running around 30% occupancy and for half an hour I was the only person in the club lounge. Second time it was about 50%.

I got a huge suite for both stays, although under the circumstances I'd much rather not have for obvious reasons. The staff in the lounge were fabulous and so pleased to have people 'supporting' them as they saw it. It got a bit much with all the 'thank you so much for staying with us at the moment' comments. I got what they mean but staying in a five star hotel is not much of a sacrifice.

The Erawan Tea Room is still closed as the glass there got clattered in the explosion but other than the windows in the lounge rattling the property seems to be ok.

Erawan Tea Room now open, was just in for dinner. We were the only customers. Looks the same, floors polished - was glad to hear that the staff are all well.

Bon Jovi just held their press conference at the hotel, their first show here in 20 years.

Shouldn't this be included in the Airport Transfer? Perhaps for Diamonds…or frequent patrons.

Are the spa cottages still there ? I stayed overnight in one about ten years ago. Half a dozen or so self-contained cottages outdoors on an upper floor of the GH Erawan hotel (around the pool if I recall correctly ?). In each cottage, as well as a bedroom, living room (with fridge containing complimentary juices, smoothies etc) and bathroom, there's also a treatment room in each cottage where you can have massage and other treatments.

They are and have recently had a refurb, as has a lot of the pool area following the full refurb of all the rooms.

There is a Park Hyatt not far away due to open this year. Maybe Hyatt can see how many more people they can give Diamond out to and flood that one as well.

Is the betting open on WHEN that will ever happen?
