Tiger Airways commenced flights between Melbourne Tullamarine and Adelaide yesterday (10/1/08) with their innagural flight arriving in Adelaide exactly on time. Following their arrival, Tiger have announced that once they have more aircraft in Australia, they intend to increase the number of flights and range of destinations from Adelaide.
Media coverage appears to be favourable, with passengers interviewed expressing delight at the cheap fares (in some cases only $9.95), the aircraft and level of service considering it is a LCC. Great to see a new airline here in ADL and some more competition on the ADL/MEL corridor.
