SilkAir to take over Scoot's Yangon flights

SilkAir will be taking over flights to Yangon, Myanmar, that are currently operated five times a week by the Singapore Airlines (SIA) group's budget arm Scoot, from Oct 29.

Interesting. Perhaps SIA group sees there's an increase in business travels between Singapore and Burma?

Wondering what other destination can be replaced by Silkair in the future from Scoot, and vice versa?

Hope Silkair can take over some services from Scoot on HKG, that'd be ideal

That’s quite a good idea perhaps to have MI to provide a red eye service to HKG and an early return flight from HKG to SIN while SQ868/SQ857 being converted to a turnaround service with red eye service on HKG-SIN.

I think Scoot do still have its market for the low cost end of the SIN-HKG vv market.

More of MI taking over SQ's flights to HKG rather than TR.

The news is rather that Scoot cuts 5 weekly flights to Yangon from 29oct onwards and is not flying to Yangon anymore.

MI is increasing MI512 frequency in the morning by 1 flight per week in October plus another 1 flight in November to 5 weekly. So I guess the reason they try to cater for demand from connecting passengers from SQ.

Overall the SQ-Group seems to cut capacity to Myanmar.
