                          Thanks for posting, eminere™! I notice that Qantas now offers pre-selected meals in Y on selected flights (I have not tried it, but it sounds like SQ's BTC except that it is also available in Y). That's a great initiative.

                            That's right, though the service is mainly (only?) limited to those flights ex-Australia for economy class. Sadly though, the option of allowing passengers to lock in their meal choice before the flight doesn't make up for the fact that the food portions are so small. It is just the main dish plus a garlic butter roll and an ice cream bar afterwards, and that's it. Compare and contrast that with just about every other Asian and Middle East airline. I find it all the more amusing that Qantas's own partner Emirates has a downright decadent offering in economy by comparison.
