Three-hour test flight as SQ8877 on the 18th....

      • SVN looks like it could be next to go. Hasn't flown for two weeks now after also taking a two week break in mid-August, so makes it less likely the current grounding is for maintenance.

        • Any update on this? MNL seems only left with SQ912/9 that still using 773 and the only one left with F. SQ910/7 is using A359 and SQ916/921 is using B787-10.

Why there is no SQ914 ah?

          • SVC is back on duty but SVN looks like it is going to be the next to depart. They wouldn't be doing this much maintenance on a plane that's due to leave.

If this indeed is the case, we are now down to four legacy IFE systems: SQL, SVM, SYF & SYL. It does appear that they are consistently retiring the 772s that have not been refitted with 2006 seats first.

So we will still see museum grade 772? How about 773?

                I just answered that.

SQL and SVM are 772s and SYF and SYL are 773s.

I expect to see the two 772s withdrawn within the next few months most likely.

All we know for sure about the 773s is that none will be withdrawn before March next year. All else is pure speculation.

                • Looks like Sq doing some swapping for the CGK route in April 2020.. my 8 seater F 773 got upgraded to a once daily 4 seater F 77W, and they added a couple of a359s to replace some of the 773 timings.

And the early morning 772 is finally gone replaced by the 773

The A359 are on SQ958/966 n are the LH version but they are not selling PE seats.
                    SQ952 changed to 77W

                    777-300 still on SQ950/960/968

                    • Seem like the only destination for 777-200 will be SQ800/805 after End March
And 777-200ER will still on SQ426/425 after end March.

777-300 will be on SQ916 SQ912 (MNL) SQ950/960/968 (JKT) SQ868 (HK) after end March

                      • Likely they will be withdrawing another few 772s end of this month and leaving only 2 or 3.
My guess is SQL, SVM will go for sure.

I'm treating my SQ890 flight to HK as a farewell to the 772s.

Taken a total of 53 flights to HK on the 772 regionals over the past 9 years on SQ890/860/868.
Although old, still a sense of attachment to them!

Correct, and in fact, the aircraft roulette is even more complicated than what you've already noted:

                          SQ890/891 SIN -- HKG v v to 773 effective 27 October through 28 March. Then to Long-Haul A359 from 29 March.
                          SQ868/857 SIN -- HKG v v to 772R (SQx/SRx) instead of 772ER (SVx) effective 27 October through 6 January; then A333 7 January through 28 March; then 773 from 29 March.

                          SQ916/921 SIN -- MNL v v 78X to 28 March; then 773 from 29 March.

So, from 29 March 2020, MNL gets twice daily 773 rotations, while the HKG 773 rotation shifts from morning to evening/return following day, and the A359 tribe takes over another turn.

                          • Was just gonna book SQ187 in December and noticed that it's gonna be operated by the 772. Seems like the 772s take over SQ188/187 only for December though.

SQ184/183 is still the 77E in December too. Will probably take SQ183 over SQ185 which is the 787. Still not the greatest fan of the new seats

And my preferred SQ919 timing is still operated by the 773!!

These oldies refuse to let go of me!!!

I believe that you've missed SQ992/993 SIN-HKT as a 772 flight, as well as SQ974/977 SIN-BKK as a 77E flight, past March 2020. Or are those flights changing equipment?

Also, what happens next summer to SQ630/639 SIN-HND that is supposed to go 773 this Winter? It baffles me that SQ, even through 2020, has decided to put angled flat Business Class seats on older equipment on their red-eye flights to PEK and from HND.

SQ992/993 currently not reflected in schedule after March. It might change later on
All BKK flight will be on A330 n 787-10 for April onwards.

SQ630/639 got back the 777-300ER for the summer schedule. For winter schedule the 777-300ER go to CDG.
