Actually I don't get why you keep referring to it as a 'purple cabin'. Only the Spacebeds were purple and that ended when SVF stopped flying.

The Business Class seats on SRL are distinctively blue. Unless you're talking about Economy class in which case I must admit I didn't take a walk there the last time I flew on her
Probably because of the color of Y class that had given me a nostalgic feeling back when I flew the 744 and a 777 a few times.

Implies SVF is heading to the desert for scrap.
They only paint the craft all white when it’s transferred to another owner or returned to lessor.

A lil sad seeing SVf go...feels just like yesterday seeing it come in on it’s delivery flight!

Makes sense now. Similar case with SYG in mid-2017.

While the outcome and destination might be the same, SYG was returned to a lessor. SVF is not leased.

Even then, the Economy Class seats are a combination of blue and purple. I don't know why people always refer this aircraft as "blue cabin". I took some pictures of SRL back in November but haven't had the chance to post my TR!

                • SIN-HAN will switch to an A333 but this seems temporarily. SIA's booking system shows a B772ER at the end of this year. I'm not complaining, happy to fly a 777 Y 3-across for such a short flight, despite the fact it is an old plane.

The cabin I've used to fly back in the past was always a mix of blue and purple. I've only called it purple cabin because posters have referred to the aircraft with those seats that way.

Doing some research myself, I found no news about SQK and I don't know if it's been through any investigation. It's still out of service, but I hope it doesn't land up being written off.

Wait until you sit in one of those Y seats in their present condition. Took less than an hour for me to be in serious discomfort the last 5 times I've had to. In all other craft I can sit 7 or 8 hours without shifting position quite contently. I've no problem with an old plane, but not worn out seats.

I think it really depends on whether or not the avionics Bay got fried in the fire.. but yes I like that one...sentimental. Hope it comes back alive.

This made me think of SWB, even though SWB had fire coming from the right engine burning the wing. Even then, I still hope they will be able to repair it. Based on what happened to SQK, it will be a couple of months out of service until unless they end up saying it can't be repaired. But something like that can still be repaired, even if it means giving a fresh new paint job.

                            • FSJZ, when you get a chance, can you please update the fleet info?

SKV has joined, SVF has left, but no changes with our current 77W (None gone for retrofitting).

I also wonder what's with SWJ? It's been out for almost 2 months.
