UA - No more complimentary wine/beer/spirits on flights to/from Asia

What an amazing development. I imagine any SG-based pax who have only flown SQ, or almost any other airline for that matter, and are trying United for the first time, are in for a shock.

Just booked to LAX for my FEB trip. Below $1900, full miles credit. If on SQ, around $2500 with 50% miles credit.
For a $600 different, you can buy what ever you need at DFS!

I love it when people try to justify the cutbacks. The point is, for your <$1900, you would have NOT had to go to DFS at all before this implementation.

So no justification is needed in this area. My justification is every time I travel with family of 4. The 4th ticket is basically free if I would travel with SQ. Every years, I made 4 to 6 trips and this makes lots of different in term of both cash and mileage accumulation.

Some American thinks that Asia is just "one continent" like North America.

To them what so big deal about SIN-HKG flight it is less than 4 hours flights. It is just like LAX/SFO-ORD flight that you need to purchase your own alcohol.

May be soon no more food serving and just take the lunch box before you board the flight?

As long as the price is lower then before or cheaper then other airlines. I do not mind. To me, UA price is consistently lower then most airlines on the same route.

Some people just never compare price before and after the change as they are use to pay much more for those so call additional services. Even extra smiles count !
