  • SQFG Defying Gravity : SIN-LHR SQ 77W First (Diamond Plus :p) and TPR review

Not so long ago, I had the chance to go to London to see the Wizard of Oz (and some very dear friends of mine). A rather wicked trip i thought.

I guess there's no better way to fly, or to arrive in better shape, whilst flying the friendly skies, whilst being treated like Gold than on SQ

SQ308 is a morning departure which I can't connect to from KUL, so I'm off the night before. Besides - gives me a little time to go through the TPR menu

Ok - the place is a little stuffy for me, cause I always get the feeling i have to sit properly and be very ladylike there. I dunno why. Maybe it's me.

It IS a bit "elderly" to me. Not for young un's like yours truly

    More to come: stay tuned

I see your point. Although I quite like it being so quiet...like you have the whole place to yourself. Looking forward to the rest of the TR!

That's coming up by tonight I hope.

Anyway - it was far too quiet. Apart from me, for a very short time, there was a large family. Apart from that, I had it all to myself.

I reckon it would be a unique spot for a first date! Or is that frequent flyer romance a bit strange?

The dining area is good if you want to see and be seen but not for me. I prefer the more intimate LHR CCR:

Doesn't look like a lounge I'd enjoy, either, as a t-shirt-and-jeans guy. But the F BP I wouldn't mind at all.

            Keep it coming, SQfg.

The TPR does look more quaint and a tad more proper that SKL T2/T3. Did you have to sleep in the TPR overnight?

The CCR does look indeed very cosy!

Dahling, you have far more class than just regular t-shirts and jeans Anyway - coming up in a bit - the next instalment

You can't sleep in the TPR overnight - it closes at 1am, reopens at 5am

I like this idea. You're an ideas man, haf! If only I'd known many years ago...

Rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub

Normally I like to finish my trip reports in one go, but these last few days have been crazy for this girl... so please bear with me

Anyway - unlike the regular SKL's, you're presented with a menu to choose from. No pics of that - but here's what I had for supper: A three cheese lobster

As the lobster looked pretty small, you can supplement it with other nibbles from the more traditional bar

Nice linen and cutlery. Nicely laid out too...

                    Breakkies the next morning

Anyway - some less seen shots of the TPR: here's the Loo!

The ladies side - dunno if the boys side's the same. Would've hoped for Bathtubs ala FCT - but there's another opportunity to get a leg over the flying crane gone

                        Next up: The flight itself

Ok - that'll come when i can string two words together to form a sentence. But whilst we wait - it's Camwhoring time!

                              The flight

Well, i find myself getting rather bored inside the TPR. I don't know. It's nice and all but there's just something about it that says - eat and go. So I go. Wandering.

There's lots more to look at outside anyway

The one thing I hate about taking pictures through glass windows - the reflections

The big bird in the background is SKB - very fond memories of this bird here

We depart from B5 today, and 9V-SWS is our ride. Boarding is swift even though we're 8 for 8, 42 for 42 and 228 for 228 today.

For those who've always wondered how big the unrestricted footwell is in 1A.

Compare this to the one in 2A. Taken aboard 9V-SWH a few days earlier

My personal preference is for row 1 as I like the open space for the feet where i can keep stuff, and also have the hump from the row 2 footwell be used as a backrest when sitting up in bed mode vs the opposite in row 2 - restricted footwell, unlimited headspace. It's personal preference - i remind you
