Scoot to Honolulu via Osaka?

Some news have mentioned that Scoot is seeking US DOT to fly to Honolulu via Osaka by second half of the year. This would be like what Air Asia announced a new routing from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu via Osaka a few months ago.

ST is reporting it now but not much details on frequency and timing yet.

The Singapore Airlines subsidiary collected its second Boeing 787 Dreamliner fitted with crew bunks - a requirement for long-haul operations - on Thursday morning (US time) from Seattle, with the airplane expected to land at Changi Airport in the late afternoon on Friday (May 12).

Just wondering aloud if the configuration depicted on ST with only 18 ScootBiz is optimal for long haul routes. Would imagine 18 selling out pretty easily with excess demand...

Yes, the pic show them splitting into 3 "classes" - 18 in ScootBiz, 33 in child-free economy and 278 in economy.

I think the "child-free" economy is an interesting concept for long-haul. The question is how much premium will they place on near-silence/peace but same seat/space/amenities as Y.

ScootBiz's pricing is somewhere between SQ's Y and PY, which seems reasonable.

According to this news, Scoot is also eyeing 3-4 more long haul destinations too:

I wonder whether LCY/STN/LGW will be on the cards since that can complete the Kangaroo route and an alternative to Australian travellers to the UK.

Please stop mentioning LCY again from time to time in this forum or other forums. It has been established as a fact that B787 can NOT land into LCY especially from Singapore.

I don't think he means LTN at all. This conversation has come up multiple times already in other forums...
