United and Vistara to begin codesharing

I thought they hated SQ's guts? Although it makes me wonder whether Vistara joining *A becomes more plausible.

United did allow SQ to codeshare on selected Houston flights from 2016 (https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...rom-july-2016/).

As for Vistara joining Star Alliance, that's highly unlikely. Don't forget that Air India is already in Star Alliance, they (and the government) would very likely oppose any efforts by Vistara to join Star. It's more likely that Vistara will be a Star Alliance Connecting Partner.

United codesharing on Vistara could be a result of one or more factors: Vistara offering more preferential terms than with AI, having better service quality/reliability than AI, needing the additional feed for their flights whereas AI does not...
