SQtraveller, maybe the success of the restructuration is exactly this: to forbid users' access to redeem part cash / part miles premium tickets
There's only One way to fly.... SINGAPORE AIRLINES!
If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways

The inability to log in was probably related to the changes to the website for the upcoming DC closure (some of which was leaked onto the live site!).

A trial run, won't be long now until DC is history.

I agree with this. From a business point-of-view, it does not make much sense to keep DC running (although I would really, really like to see them continue). A gut feel (correct me if I am wrong) but I don't think some carriers within *A are not too happy with the good burn rates that DC offers.

I don't see why they would care, the *A carriers must get paid about the same for a redemption no matter which program is paying for it?

Yeah - i think this is the case. an X, I or O seat should earn any given carrier the same regardless of the FFP that booked it.

                  Theory:
It's for this reason I don't think SQ's actually blocking redemptions on the A380/77W in J and F (R is another story). Seeing as how M&M members get inventory, could it be that SQ's actually published D and A award prices, distributed it to all *A carriers, but only LH has agreed to stump up?

Would BMI keep most of its existing routes when LH takes over? Just wondering if there would be any significant changes to the operations of the airline (not talking about the FFP here).

I'm thinking of going to DAM. Never flown BD and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I think it's only fair to give something back to BD when the FFP is so generous to all of us.

I don't think I received any upgrade vouchers this year. Are they still paper vouchers or e-vouchers now?

Diamond Club is more generous than Miles & More, thus greater cost to LH. Past history of LH is they have closed down FFPs of airlines they have bought within about a year (or less).

LH has already shuffled some routes between LH & BD, and also between LH & OS.

They have also already closed some BD routes which were low yielding and also where they are well served by LH. A bit more inconvenient for those travelling from LHR but no real impact if flying from elsewhere (connect at FRA or MUC instead of LHR).

but I think the difference is that the UK domestic market is different and BD/DC has a place against British Airways and their program. I think they are relying on customer loyalty to DC and BD to keep the domestic operation going. Maybe im wrong, just a thought

What confuses me is why then does it take less miles to get a redemption on SQ metal (new J and F) with DC then it does with KF? Maybe back to the issue of SQ not giving a toss about it's own FF members?
