  • What happened on IAH-DME on 2/23?

My buddy, his wife and daughter was on that flight and he said 5 seconds after take off roll began, there was a fire in the engine and they aborted take off.

The #2 engine had a flameout. Not sure if it's fixable, otherwise they will need to change engines.

On the SQ website on flight status, the scheduled time of departure from IAH was originally at 4.45pm on 23 Feb, the delayed estimated time of departure now is at 1am on 25 Feb, which is about to depart in an hour's time.

              LOL!

You're right. My name is fitting.

The flameout happened very early in the takeoff run. No danger to the pax. The aircraft taxied back to the gate with fire engines in tow. Pax and baggage were offloaded.

They must have fixed the engine because the plane left Houston a few minutes ago. Not sure if there are passengers onboard or if they were rebooked on other flights.

According to acars aircraft was 9V-SWT.
