  • 1st Airline to serve Absinthe onboard

VX becomes the first airline to serve absinthe onboard its flights

    http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/s...e,808537.shtml

The article quotes Food & Beverage magazine describing VX's signature "Mile High Cocktail" (made with Le Tourment Vert absinthe, sprite, and a lemon wedge) as having a flavor profile that is "extremely versatile"

Hahaha Yeah, got the eleVAte e-mail yesterday about an hour before your post here. Pretty funny. Brand looks kinda scary (as does all the fakey Absinthe these days). But I'll take one for the team and try it out on my next VX flight.

Ohh, do share with us your assessment after.

I dunno why they named it le tourment vert cuz tourment is basically French for torment aka pain or the opposite of pleasure.

Last time I flew VX was SFO-LAS-SFO last June. Last time I had absinthe was at Toro Bravo in PDX.

So, after 5 minutes of trying to get the child proof top off the bottle, I took one for the SQT Team and tried the stuff last week. It came out more blue than green and did not cloud with water. Upon tasting it on its own...there really wasn't any taste.

Conclusion = stick to the beer.

Well one might consider absinthe to be quite painful rather than pleasurable.

I myself think that 'green torment' is quite apt when describing absinthe

            Very disappointing indeed

Thanks to HugeAl for taking one for the SQTalk team. He deserves a proper absinthe ritual with lit up sugar and the joyful experience of watching the green wizard cloud up the water the next time anyone of us catches him at a bar (that serves absinthe, natch )
