  • United's New Business Class + Le Meridian Cyberport HK (both on redemption) = $0!

    25th Jan, UA896, SIN-HKG, 0650/1025, seat 17K (alone)
    26th Jan, UA895, HKG-SIN, 2010/2350, seat 15A

cant seem to load pics on this website, to c pics, pls visit:

    http://www.tour2korea.myphotoalbum.com/

the seat is gd, lie flat 180degrees...it looks narrow but can fit the size of 1 person nicely and on the lower deck the centre has 4 seats! usually other airlines has 3 only: XX XXX XX, United has XX XXXX XX!

i sat on the upper deck on both ways. rear facing does not have much difference except during take off n landing.

United lacks amenities like playing cards, pen, postcards...only have eyeshades, ear plugs n toothbrush. food is so so and the cultery used is not attractive.

the liquour n spirits selection is gd!! comes in small bottles! i got 7 of them. initially the FA will pour for me den i will get an empty bottle...but i tot of an idea: I told the FA i want it to mix the drink with tonic water MYSELF, so the FA gav me the small bottle, unopened!! smart rite?

Le Meridian Cyberport HK is super chic!...room has aromatherapy smell and naughty bathroom, where the bathroom is separated by glass.

yes!! if you are flyin on STAR alliance carrier's biz class, you can visit any member carrier's lounge!!

in T3, i went to SATS PREMIER CLUB and SIA's SilverKris Lounge.

in HKIA, I went to SIA's SilverKris Lounge, THAI's royal orchid lounge, United's red carpet lounge and The Traveler's Lounge (free access with Diners Club card).

Trip redeemed on United's Mileage Plus (30k miles) and Thai's Royal Orchid Plus Hotel award, 1 nite (12k miles)

    one word: SHOIK!!

UA drink selection is very good because they come in miniature bottles?
The best drink they have is Glenlivet which may or may not be on board (and one has to ask one specifically).
Wine selection is pretty sad, and of course no Krug in F.

Honestly, I thought UA actually did improve beverage selection, but I guess that's not the case here.

Enough of UA bashing from this soon to be ex-1K.

Bring on the bashing! We've got plenty of threads going in *A section! I'll be happy to chime in there.

either u can ask from the FA u want the empty bottle or use my technique to get the bottle untouched: I told the FA i want it to mix the drink with tonic water MYSELF, so the FA gav me the small bottle, unopened!! smart rite?

Yes, Glenlivet is onboard..i got a bottle..green colour one..c the last pic in the website: http://www.tour2korea.myphotoalbum.com/

yes, if u use Krisflyer to redeem, u need 50k miles n no 15% discount cos its star alliance carriers...so redeem on UA's mileage plus is better. only the seat is better den SIA....n TV..rest sucks...

Actually it looks pretty impressive. Now why wouldnt UA update their domestic flights?

So J class down now we got to see F class UA the new Seats. I flew from LAX to London last may with BA FIRST. Actually it sucked. All the crews are grandmas.

BA needs to up their ante. Even CX are revamping.

We're taking the thread off its original topic (UA) of course, but what connection did the age of the crew have with the flight experience? Was it simply because you wanted to ogle a young cabin crew? I've had very enjoyable flights with 'mature' crew. They were very professional, and had a polish to their service that could only have come from long-standing experience.

Personally I don't like "mature" crew, but this is only from a mere attractiveness point of view.
In many case aged crew are most trained to deal with customers and often they can anticipate your needs.
On my SFO-SYD flight, the FA serving right aisle (where I was sitten) was at least 50 but absolutely competent and very funny.
There's only One way to fly.... SINGAPORE AIRLINES!
If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways
