  • 50 Hours Check-In In Advance

    Greetings,

First of all, Merry Christmas. I hope you all and the Singapore Airlines Group a prosperous and Happy New Year where you shall conquer your enemies and competitors!

I have two passengers flying SGNSIN and SINLHR on a Singapore Stopover Holiday. On 28 Dec SQ171 departs at 1140 and on 30 Dec SQ320 departs at 1240.

For various reasons one would like one suitcase of three to be checked in through to LHR. If one assumes that one arrives at SGN at 1000 for check in (1100 Singapore time), is this even possible as the next flight is 49 hours 40 minutes away. I know internet check-in is a tad too early. If this were possible, the passengers would reclaim the two suitcases in SIN and re-check them in as per normal at SIN.

On another note, I unfortunately cannot say that of my four domestic VN legs and one TR (SINSGN), that VN and TR are better than CX though I saw more smiles on the HANSGN flight than I did on the SINHKG or HKGSIN!

Also the snowflakes on the forum make Vietnamese internet cafe computers function very very very slowly.

Take care and thanks in advance.

I think your best bet is Left Luggage at SIN.

Yes, the snowflakes seem to be slowing down my computer as well. They are probably cute for someone who lives in a warm climate. Where it's cold, they are an unpleasant reminder of the cold grey filth covering the city.

This is a no no. You can't have one suitcase of three going on to your final destination and two only going to SIN. Either all three go to LHR or all three go to SIN. The only exception to this is if one person checks the one in to SIN, and another person checks in the other two to LHR. If you're going alone, you're out of luck.

          Thank you for the responses.

I don't think left luggage is an option since you have to er..... pass through immigration and more importantly, customs.

But we'll give it a shot. I think one passenger will check in through to LHR and they get to SIN they can internet check-in the other passenger, though this will mean having to check-in two suitcases to avoid confusion over allowances in SIN.

SIN has left luggage airside as well as landside. I've only ever used it airside.
