  • Hall of Shame: Hotels That Don't Get Around to Crediting KrisFlyer Miles

Just wondering if you guys have the same unhappy experience that I always get - many of the hotels which I stay at never get round to crediting my KF miles for the stays despite my presentation of the KF card upon check in. "Guilty" chains include Sofitel (I have NEVER gotten any miles), Meritus Mandarin and Raffles International.

The two hotel chains that did not credit my miles are Shangri-La and Marriott.

Signed up for the promotion from Marriott but received nothing.

Huh...Sofitel didn't even credit me points on their own program for 2 stays.

Marina Mandarin also did not credit KrisFlyer miles for me once.

Got to be Somerset HoChiMinh (The Ascott Group). More than 10 stay over 2 years. Never once credit any KF miles despite presenting the card during check-in.

Yes! The Ascott group as well...

It's funny how all these hotels make an elaborate show of photocopying the card or copying down your card details, and it's almost like they then crumple the paper and toss it backwards over their shoulder in the direction of the wastepaper basket the moment you're gone..

Shangri-La and Traders ALWAYS credited my miles so far without asking. At least the one in Singapore. When I first stayed there 2 years ago I presented my card. Since then, I have returned numerous times and never showed my card again or mentioned that I'm a Krisflyer member... yet they did always credit the miles Same in Hong Kong and other places!

Peninsula on the other hand is inconsistent... sometimes they credit the miles without me having to present the card (returning guest e.g. Beijing, HKG), sometimes I don't get the miles even if I mention my membership (Chicago, LA)...

I agree with the negative comments about accor group (ibis, novotel, sofitel)... they NEVER EVER credit miles... I dislike Accor anyway and avoid them whenever I can

Similar with Mandarin Oriental... even as full-paying guest they always come up with some excuse why they can not give the miles...

I am curious, and also the more important question for the above respondents:

Do you still get your miles credited in your KrisFlyer account after filing in your missing mileage request?

Raffles Group has always been very hit-or-miss for me. I would say I probably received miles 3 out of 10 times when staying at the late Raffles The Plaza (now Fairmont) in Singapore.

It's futile, and I gave up after 2 or 3 times... the SIA people say it's beyond their control and they have no records (invoices from the hotels are not acceptable).

Same for me... gave up after a few times... the effort is simply not worth it for 500miles or so... I loose far too much of my rare spare time if I constantly have to place missing mileage requests... I guess the hotels know that and that's how they get away with it...
