Actually i treated it as a blessing in disguise as i really wanted badly to go to try LX F class. (when you are on group trip IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get upgrades). So, when we checked into ZRH (i describe the airport ac a cross between DFW, MEL and SIN) , we were told that the plane was overloaded and they were asking for 12 People to board LX182 ZRH-BKK-SIN. After all, i can skip another day of school! However, they say that we were taking Y class ( i prefer SQ Y class) so after about 20 minutes of arguing, they finally allowed me and a 3 of my friends to go on LX F class!. so when we arrived, we were told by my friends who were waiting at SIN that the group on SQ was delayed @ N. Delhi (and what luck, another teacher was coming back home from his teaching trip in N. delhi in the same flight!)

the Swiss F lounge was nice and pretty empty, but now it is expended with more seating and better food and alcohol offerings.

Switzerland was nice... to me, no words can describe it. i want to go back there again!

OK SQ F seats VS LX F seats

i will say that the LX F seats are somewhere between 744 F seats and 77W f seats. it look exactly like Swissair F seats but in a brighter tone of colours (my seat was 2A). however, the leg rest looks odd as it is right smack in the middle of nowhere, the seats is about the size of 744 F seats but the IFE was a small, 16 inch touch screen that is tuck into the armrest on the window, which makes one of the 3 window unable to be viewed. Food is Good (i see if i can upload the menu) and very efficient, you get your food almost immediately when you request it form the IFE. Service was excellent. when the Crew are free, they will come over to you to make sure you are comfy and also have a chit chat session with you. oh ya... the crew can be the European's equivalent to our SQ girl. the gentlemen in front of me say that they are the prettiest air stewardess around. ambience if the F cabin is nice (something like SQ 380 J class. however, we have only 1 toilet for all of us to use!

upon landing at both BKK and SIN (i got 2, for both legs), all pax in all class were given a box of swiss chocolate as a gift. (my the chocolate were nice!)
Mabye SQ should do something like this. we were also given a US$400 cheque form SQ as compensation for the inconvenience (ON AN LX FLIGHT!)

i will give the flight a 4.2 star rating. and i dont mind flying on LX F class again. So do chocolate and elle... who gave a v good rating on the food

Nice story, but 4 schoolchildren were able to argue their way from Y into F? With LX agents? Sorry, A350, I find that hard to believe. That doesn't square with what I know of LX's upgrade policy.

Don't tell me you haven't got any, cause it's highly improbable that you DIDN'T take pics, but please, don't be shy here! I have never been in LX F and would love to see it!

LX interactive IFE?

I fly LX all the time and I've never seen this interactive screen where you order your food off from the IFE.
But it sounds interesting and I'm curious. How does it work? But it doesn't really make sense. Why would the crew pass out menus and come by and take your orders if you are meant to order from the screen? So the menus are updated into the system for every flight? Sounds like a lot of work for 8 passengers.
Also you mention that the seat was light in color. Did they change them? New first class seats? Looking forward to my next trip in 2 weeks to sample all of these new changes.

well, i know it sound impossibles, but it is up to you to believe it. The pics are going up soon. but yea... still you must remember that most of my friends are FFs and also, one of the 4 of us was a senior Pilot Child.

the IFE has been upgraded, it is now their new trail system on all A340/A330 planes.Due to complain that the old system was one of the worst

SQflyergirl. yes i do have pics of the plane. but they are not many as LX have this very crazy idea that terrorist wants to bomb their plane and the photo can be used as some point of info for the terrorist. so i was asked by the FA to keep my cam a few times!. i try to upload it ASAP (Seriously, What harm can a few of us cause?)

my meaning of light is cream colour. Don't ask me if you are going to use the new system. because not all of the planes uses it... it is still under trail. so if you are lucky...

yup. but we were unhappy of that fact we got bumped off SQ planes. so SQ tried to negotiate with LX (or so as i heard).

School children? Well, for what we know, were are fare paying Pax so we get all the rights as Adults. and yup, we did not reveal the fact that we are students but try to be like adults. BTW .we didn't argue, all we did was to ask one of the adult to get at least some compensation and, We didn't expect to be given F, J was good enough as most of us have only seat in Y class
