    "Cruising": 1000ft & below

    Ok, so I went to Malaysia for my intro flight on the Piper Warrior. Unfortunately, all instructors were not available. Therefore the person giving me the intro flight is a senior club member and I have to fly from the right seat.

    The winds when we took off was 10kts gusting 16kts. I did the take off run and a climbing turn to the east of the airfield for the training area. I was orientated with the training areas and the no fly zone. Then I got to do climbs and mid-level turns.

    The weather was quite turbulent but for someone like me, I enjoy this kind of ride. Everything went smoothly until we were about to rejoin the circuit for a landing. A Piper Seneca from the Malaysian Flying Collage came into our airspace and we were forced to climb to 1500ft. Before that we were cleared to operate at 1000ft and below. And again, I got to do the climb.

    While we were rejoining the circuit, the winds picked up and other students were forced to return to the airfield. My plane was the last to land on runway 16 before the runway changed to 34. The plane was all over the place on short finals and the club member that went up with me was prepared to go around but he managed to make quite a smooth landing.

    Overall, I enjoyed the flight very much. Unfortunately due to the lack of time that I have left remaining in my holiday, I won't be returning for my course. Instead, I will be going down under for my course and only return to Johor to keep my license current.

    Thats all for my first trip report. Constructive comments please.. Don't flame me... Thanks!

      Which area of Australia are you going to sit ** "course", I take it your doing a PPL course? I recommend Jandakot airport, its always busy there and has the SQ training school, they train cadets up to Commercial level on Twins then send them over east to Queensland where they build jet experience in a Cessna Citation I think. Best of Luck.

          If you ever end up doing any training at Melbourne avoid TVSA and BMSA like the plague. How many hours have you got? and what are the stall characteristics like in a Warrior? (I've only flown C-150's)
