  • MAXjet review on BT USA - Oct 2006

Just saw a 'Tried and Tested' page on BT USA - Oct 2006 edition.
It was definitely the most interesting review I have read in a long time.
Tried to search for an online edition but couldn't find any.

The journalist was travelling JFK-LON-JFK. Some things went wrong on the outbound (JFK-LON) - portable entertainment systems not working etc. but what he said happened on the way back was beyond believe. And it was all published! Apparently MaxJet's CEO instructed the company's PR agency to do damage control and try to keep the article from being published. Let's just say that the PR person was overly creative at that.

Anyone caught that article last month?

MAXjet's former CEO (as of a few days ago) I assume!

I have my first MAXjet flight this evening - JFK-LHR - touch wood!

The chairman of Maxjet has been named its president and CEO.

The appointment of Bill Stockbridge was effective Nov. 22. Stockbridge replaces Gary Rogliano, who has left the Dulles-based airline to pursue other opportunities, according to a Maxjet statement.

Here's a blog that recaps the article: http://realitybitesback.blogspot.com...trying_08.html

            Talk about bad PR. Geez.

Interesting blog article, thanks globetrekker84! However, I think the comment underneath should also be read together with the blog entry.

In any event, I'm due to take MAXjet in under an hour - currently sitting in the Korean Airlines' lounge which they use here at JFK T1. Check-in and security were great - no queues whatsoever.

                Thanks for the link, globetrekker84.
Very interesting PR exercise, I say.

Just saw the comments from the T+L editor, backing up the PR person.
It would be interesting to see if the PR person responds to BT somewhere, so we can hear more about her side of the story.

                  OT:
Where do they sell BT USA? I tried looking for it in newstands everywhere (including in the airport terminals) and can never find it.
