    Asiana Bz Class??
    Hi
Never travelled OZ business before? Is it a good product.
My choices on award travel back from from SIN to YYZ is

    1)SIN-BKK (SQ 772)-PEK(TG 300-600)-YYZ (AC 77W)

    OR

    2) SIN-ICN(OZ 333)-PEK(OZ744)-YYZ (AC 77W)

    The pros/cons:

    With #1--
The SIN-PEK portion is overnight but with 1) I get a long stop in PEK (7 hrs) - enough to go to a day hotel and grab lunch. The TQ plane offers C seats with 38" pitch according to Seatguru.

With #2- I leave 2 hours later but have less a gap at PEK, not allowing for a day bed and rest. However the planes are much nicer I think..

Is OZ a good product overall?
    THanks

Do not, I repeat DO NOT fly the classic TG A300/600 on a red eye it sucks lemons and nails. The OZ 333 in C/J is great and the service is too. The lounges in ICN for OZ have showers if you have the time too...

What QSG said, DO NOT touch TG's A300s. You WILL regret it

Thirded. I couldn't wait to get off the plane even in C on the short-ish BKK-SIN segment. I can't imagine a much longer segment like BKK-PEK...

Easy choice -> Asiana uses its new A333 on the SIN-ICN overnight route whereas TG has an aircraft with horrible seats as others have pointed out...

OZ's new "lie-flat" Business Class seat is great in the seating and lounging positions and is fairly comfortable in the bed- mode. I took OZ 752 a few times this year and it was possible to get a few hours of rest in these seats though they are not completely flat (advantage: no "sliding down"- effect) and the angle of the seats is quite steep (seat reclines 167 degrees)...

Service as well as the quality of the food is generally excellent on OZ flights and the flight attendants really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable on board... once again I had a great crew today on an OZ flight PEK-ICN...

The lounge in ICN is nice for the layover, however the seats on the 744 from ICN-PEK will not be impressive... but as this is a short day flight, it will not bother you too much...

For all the reasons above I would not hesitate to book OZ C, whenever they have a plane with their new Business Class seats (all A333, some 772, none of their B744 have the new seats!!!)

How does the service of Thai compare with Asiana?

It seems to be consensus that OZ seats are much nicer...
My only concern is that taking OZ will decrease my layover in PEK from 8hrs to 5 hrs. Seems like a good thing? But...may not be enough time to take a break in a hotel room. Is there a place in PEK airport to rest and shower as I have to go on to YYZ!

I will 'fourth' the recommendation to keep well away from TG's AB6 for anything over an hour. I do BKK-SGN vv on them occassionally and flew CAN-BKK earlier this month in one. A dreadful aircraft that should be put out of it's misery.

I really like OZ. I flew LHR-ICN (777 in J) and a few domestics with them last week . The crews are great and I would currently put them above TG who seem to be on a bit of a downward slope at the moment unfortunately. Coupled with an AB6 I would definitely go with OZ.

OZ service reminds me of NH service. There are nice showers in ICN J lounge which you will have enough time to use. PEK capital airport(at least the last time I was there) was certainly not worth hanging around for 5 hours not to mention 8! Whether the facilities have improved YMMV...........

I took TG in F Class on a roundtrip BKK-ZRH recently and I must say that in terms of service, it wasn't better than OZ in C. Asiana's Business Class on their A333 is very compact (30 seats) and their service very personal... OZ FAs are always around when you need something, whereas TG personnel, even in F, generally disappear after meal services... OZ flight attendants also tend to be younger and more attractive than their TG counterparts (at least in F and C)... and no I don't want to be a superficial person but it makes a difference... )

To summarize it: TG service is very inconsistent whereas OZ girls (and a few boys) have always been very good to me (I don't want to believe that this is only because I'm young and handsome and some Korean girls show a tendency to like me)

IMO OZ is one of the best carriers in terms of service and food... if they would only accelerate the upgrading of their fleet with new seats and send their horrible 744s (or at least its seats) into retirement... the C Class seats on their 744 are a nightmare... I came to hate them on a 1.5 hrs trip to PEK; they must be horrible for a 14 hrs flight ICN-JFK.

                    UPDATE>>>

So I am booked on OZ from SIN to ICN to PEK to YYZ (AC) I understand SIN to ICN is the new seats. This leaves SIN at 1040.

I know have the option of going on SQ from SIN to PEK to YYZ. Leaves SIN at 0115 - ie four hours later.

                    Both in Business...

SIN website says the SQ flight 812 is 777-200ER. Does this mean guaranteed Space Beds? The OZ SIN to ICN has the new beds apparently...

What do you guys think??? ONly diff is a CAD$55 change fee!

I am 90% sure that PEK gets the Boeing 777-200 in which case you will receive the Ultimo Minus seats (blue).

I suggest you fly Singapore Airlines.
