  • New Orleans: W vs W

Ok the choice of hotels is less clear cut in New Orleans because there are 2 Ws. Has anyone here experienced both and able to give me a detailed breakdown of the 2?

I also canvassed opinions on TOF and the responses I read were pretty divided.

    The way I see it:
    - W FQ has the better location, being right in the middle of the French Quarter/Bourbon St. W Poydras is a few blocks away.
    - W Poydras has more suites and so it'd be easier for a PLT to be upgraded at this property.
    - W Poydras is a lot cheaper (but it's a prepaid non-refundable rate...)
    - A lot of people said that W FQ is the better run hotel but this opinion is by no means unequivocal.
    - One poster mentioned W Poydras has better bartenders. I think I'll be spending a lot of time out of the hotel though, since nightlife in NOLA is supposed to be very good - but I also like chilling out in W Living Rooms.

    So what do SQTalkers think?

So let's hypothetically pretend we're comparing hotels of a different brand with the same/similar considerations.

Hey I don't just like Ws, the LM Art and Tech properties are my fave too. Sadly they aren't building any new ones...
