Hi, does anyone know for SQ 12 from Singapore all the way to LA via Tokyo, during the stopover, do you have to leave the plane? Thanks in advance.

Yes all passengers need to leave the aircraft during its transit stop over as believed its a requirement by the Japanese authorities. However as its a fairly short transit of 1.25 hours, it is not really possibe to go all the way to the airport main central transit hall to walk about.

        Bump.
Booked on this flight next month, with Japan still closed to foreigners I'm expecting NRT to be pretty quiet.
Last time I took this flight was about 15 years ago so I don't remember a whole lot about it. Would one say there's time to grab a couple of items from duty-free and a bowl of noodles? Or is there only time to go through security and right back on the plane?

Same here... scheduled early Apr LAX-SIN-CMB and return. Having done this so many times pre-COVID (747, A380, 77W), looking forward to see how the experience has evolved

Japan has reopened to all foreigners on 1 March. All you need is a business invitation. No quarantine for foreigners from many countries, arrival from Singapore has 3 days self isolation for now.
