  • SQ236/SQ255 plane swap

    I just received notification that my seat allocation had changed for my flight in January 2018, intrigued checked and to my disappointment the A330 has been swapped out for B772.

    I don't think I'm thrilled with the swap in aircraft even if they've been refurbished

      BNE doesn't seem to get that sought of love from SQ which is a real shame as Cathy flies A350's daily.

        Hopefully this will be because of the lie-flat seats they're putting to BNE according to a few articles I've read. Unless they miraculously put something like SVB

          So down to only 1 A330 rotation for BNE. I travelled on SQ245 recently and those old 772s are quite a downgrade from the 333 in Y, crappy IFE and seats aren't great either.

          While I love SQ it would be nice if they would show BNE some love.

            I flew SQ245 in J yesterday. I miss the A330. The 772 are in really bad shape.

              Yeah, there's no way to really understand how bad those old 772ER seats are until you've sat in one for 7+ hours.

                The seat next to me, the IFE had to be reset a number of times. The passenger was doing it themselves! The little panel that covers the IFE box in the bottom left of the seat was broken, so it must have been like that for a while.

                  When I received the notification it stated that the change was due to seasonal demand. Considering the A333 have been fairly well entrenched on the Brisbane - Singapore for some time now, does anyone know what routes have a higher need during the Winter Schedule?

                    That's a very diplomatic way of saying "we're returning our A330s when their leases expire so have this old 772 with no resale value we're squeezing the last drops of life out of."

                    There is a neglible difference in the number of seats between the two planes, with the A330 holding 10 more Y and four more J.
