  • A350 Power Sockets?

    Hello,

I am flying J in the A350 in a couple of weeks. Can these seats take both UK ans Australian plugs please?

    Thanks

Yes it can, it is the universal power socket.

Yes, universal socket, which takes UK and Australian plugs (In additional to US / Europe etc). Pic of the socket here.

Thanks, I asked SQ and they said it was universal but suggested I take an adapter.

What about the refurbished J on the 777-200ER. Do these have sockets?

        Thanks

Didn't think they did. Dam. I planned to use my laptop to watch movies instead of that rubbish screen!

I'm pretty certain that the refurbed 777-200ER J seats have the universal power socket. Just not the USB sockets. Could somebody else confirm this?

Yup the refurb 777-200er do have power (1 socket) but no USB with the 2006J but the Krisworld IFE is the older version with reduce content and the screen resolution is less due to the older servers on the pane.

Does the re-refurbed 772ER have USB outlets in J? Fortunately due to SQ207/8 switching to the A350, I've been able to avoid the plane until now but I have an upcoming flight on the 772ER (hopefully on SVB), so I'm curious to know if they've updated it.

I've not been on SVB but on other SVx planes with the 2006J and no USB and I doubt SVB would have as the servers and system are still the older generation it's mainly the physically seat upgrade. You could consider bring a USB charger to plug to the power socket. Some travel adapters include USB sockets so you could plug one in and charge your device while still being able to plug your laptop.

On SVB it uses the 2006 server not the really old one.

I am not that bothered about USB, I have a powerbank anyway. But I want to plug my laptop in.

                      Cheers

I'm not sure how the 350 as far as power sockets is compared to the 77WN. The only negative I found about the 77WN/77WR power sockets is you have to bend down to plug in your laptop to charge and sometimes you gotta hold it down to make sure it's really charging. iPhone wise, I have no problem using USB. I wish Lenovo laptops (like my Yoga Pro) would allow USB charging.

For the power sockets, I thought the older 77W was easier to still charge on the armrest.

I fly the refurbished 777-200ER frequently (SV series) and thought I'd pitch in. For J they do not have USB port. As for AC plug, it does not accept the UK plug. In fact I'm pretty sure the 2006 J and F even on the 77W do not accept the UK plug (which is annoying for Singaporeans since we use that). You'd have to bring an adapter.

I'm not 100% sure but i think Y has no plugs at all for the 777-200ER.

Hello! I suppose there's a chance I might be wrong, but I personally have used my UK plug onboard the SV-series' refitted J many times for my laptop and phone without an adapter There is no USB though, that I can confirm.

The 2006 products on the 77W and A380 have the UK socket + USB. The 2006 F on the refitted SY-series 773 do not have USB but have a UK plug compatible socket.

If you are talking about the 2006 Y that is a hand-me-down from the 77W then there should be.
