  • SIN Transit Question

Going to transit SIN overnight going to USA.

I'm planning to go into SIN city for one night.

Is it better to check my bags all the way through to USA? I suppose this way I don't have to rush in the morning to check in my bags and can just go direct to immigration.

Or, collect my bags in SIN and recheck the next morning for my SIN-USA flight?

    All flights are on SQ.

    Which is more reliable?

Could you just confirm- does your flight into SIN arrive later in the day than your departing flight out of SIN leaves, i.e. is your transit definitely less than 24 hours?

I think it is super reliable to check your bag through, especially at Changi. That's what I would do. Pack a cabin bag for the overnight and let the rest be handled straight thru by SQ. I have done this a few times, for example, SIN-NRT-LAX, bags straight thru, stopped for one night at NRT and went into town with just a cabin bag. No problems and no fuss of schlepping large bags.

Check through all you baggages if your connecting flight is less than 48 hours, you can even add another baggages in Changi should you have additional one, provided the allowance of your baggages still permits (but a lot of cases they dont check if your additional baggages is overlimit). I have done this many times, with all SQ flights or combined with MI. i.e. CGK-SIN-SYD vv, SRG-SIN-SFO // LAX-SIN-SRG with MI
