Hi All -
Would appreciate your advice on how to deal with married segment logic trying to book an F Saver for myself (as PPS member).
Yesterday I called to redeem for an F Saver LAX-NRT for next spring, which was on waitlist. When I spoke with the agent, she first told me there was space was available, but then realized she had accidentally searched LAX-SIN. I asked the call center if I should just ticket LAX-SIN and then try and waitlist for LAX-NRT, but they said to waitlist and send a chaser. As soon as I was added to LAX-NRT waitlist, LAX-SIN went from available to waitlist, and LAX-NRT waitlist closed. But I am left with no confirmed seat and no alternative option to confirm one right now.
Should I instead have tried to book LAX-SIN and then waitlist / try to change the booking to LAX-NRT? I assume from SQ's perspective, logic would say that if I have a seat all the way to SIN but only want to fly to NRT, they would prefer to free up the seat I wouldn't use anyways on NRT-SIN to sell to someone else? Did I make a mistake by not first confirming LAX-SIN?
Looking for tips from any experts so I know what is best approach for the next time. In the meantime, fingers crossed I clear at some point.
