  • Splitting miles on one ticket

    Hey guys,

I flew SQ recently and credited my SIN-SYD miles to my KF account. I just got my Aegean membership, and was wondering if it was possible for me to get my return (SYD-SIN, which is on the same ticket) credited to my Aegean account instead of my KF? It was booked through an agent, but he seems to be a little confused with my question, so i thought I'd ask on the forum!

Yes, at check in just present your Aegean card (you may have to tell staff that the airline code is A3) and make sure it is reflected on the boarding pass.

However, also notice the changes that A3 has announced to the Miles & Bonus program (for Gold qualification & re-qualification) which may impact your decision to credit there.

"Now, to earn gold status with Aegean you must fly 24,000 miles within 12 months (including at least 4 Aegean or Olympic Air flights), or a total of 48,000 miles on any Star Alliance carriers"

4 Aegean or Olympic Air flights....that might be lot of hassle. You might start to think of doing your early vacation trip to Santorini from now on

Also, do note that changing FF number might not always work. Had a trip earlier this year, where I need my Aegean status but would like my miles credited to UA. So was checking in using Aegean FF, then changing it at the transfer desk. 2 out of 4 flights credited to Aegean, 1 out of 4 flights credited to UA. Last flight credited to both programs, 50% miles on Aegean, 100% in UA.
