  • Sweet Deals Airfare Questions

    I have booked 2 "Sweet Deals" tickets SIN-XXA (for example) return. The outbound, SIN-XXA, is not a problem as we will make the trip together. However, my friend now has to do a biz trip to XXB immediately after our holiday. Therefore, he prefers to do a XXA-XXB direct rather than coming back to SIN and fly out again a couple of hours later.

    Questions :

    (1) I believe I would need to inform SQ that my travel partner would like to cancel his inbound flight XXA-SIN. Otherwise, SQ would charge us the no-show fee, right?

    (2) If yes for Q1, do we do it now or can we wait until after we complete the outbound trip? I do not wish SQ to mess up our whole booking.

    (3) Will this have any impact on my return journey? B'cos I understand that all pax in same booking have to travel together? Will they deny me boarding the flight bcos my travel partner has cancelled his XXA-SIN sector?

    Thanks for any advice. :-)

    So long as your friend is not seeking a refund on the return leg, I think it should be fine. But I'll let the pros hear answer you as to how to give a "valid" reason for not turning up.

        Have been caught in such a situation before and was specifically told that the party of 2 must travel on both segments to qualify for the fare. That is for the Sweet Deals 2 to go. Am assuming you mean this?

          ahhhh... mine is just the "Sweet Deals", not the "2 to go" tickets. And we are not looking at refunds as we understand the rules of the tickets.

          @SINFJ
          what did you do for your situation? Call SQ to upgrade the ticket to "Sweet Deals 1 to go" or "Flexi Saver"?

            The sweet deals fare should not have a minimum number of travelers as part of the conditions of the ticket. But call Reservations to check anyway if a definite answer is what you want about your arrangement. Best case they will charge you no show for the 2nd leg

            In my case, I was on a 2 to go fare so it differed. I had to return from HKG with the missus, instead of popping up to PVG direct.
