  • SQ325 FRA SIN now arriving at T2, last gate

Although all my European departure flights are leaving from T3, recently 325 from FRA has been arriving at T2.

Which would normally be OK, except they are using the very last gate in the F wing, which leads to a considerable hike to Immigration. More annoying though is that the arrival time seems to be very busy at T2, and the taxi queues are enormous. Have given up and taken very pricey limo (used to be $35, now $55 for what would normally be a $20 taxi ride in my case)

Seems that this would be because they are often sending arrivals on SQ325 off next to BOM as SQ424. There's a flight from MEL that does a similar thing because its next usual destination is DEL.

The problem was compounded with the additional Tigers now also using the terminal. T2 is probably more crowded than T1 after the shift of the budget airlines!

F56/58 are near the VIP terminal. Any VIPs on your flights?

I think you are right, the mix is definitely different, with a much higher demand for taxis.

Hopefully when they finally decide to build T5 and if for SQ that they build a big enough terminal to house the entire SQ operation under one roof. This split terminal operations is just a joke.

not till they tear down the entire airport and rebuild from scratch.

Would you care to expand on this statement?

Many airports split the operations of their major tenant(s) with airlines often split over two (or sometimes more) terminals. I find that the situation at SIN better than most although I do recognise that a transfer from say F42 or F60 to B10 can take sometime.

I have never lost my luggage when transiting through SIN no matter how fast the transfer. It was delayed once but delivered to my hotel at the next destination within 4 hours.

We've gone through that a few times but upshot...

For us in Singapore to take SQ to, let's say Hong Kong leaving T3 for a couple of days it is generally cheaper to drive and park at the airport. Problem is we have no idea where the plane returns to.....SQ can leave to HK (or any destination) from one terminal and return to another, only determined by the next destination of the aircraft itself.

It is crazy, then, to park at T3 and arrive at T2 which even though one number is next to the other, in SIN we have T1 in between so have to travel the entire length of the airport just to reach our car, at which time we could be down in the taxi and half way home.

We know which terminal CX, LH, TG and even now the budget carriers leave and depart from, providing better service for us on the ground.

Other airports do it right, if the same airline is split over two terminals, destination leave and arrive from the same terminal such as BA in LHR.

You are talking about a country where the term customer service does not necessary mean accomodating customers. Its simply irrelevant to complain.

That's rather offensive to people from that country, especially to those working hard in the service industry.

I am BA Gold and therefore spend a lot of time flying on BA and find their staff warm and genuine. Always a pleasure to fly with them.

4 hours delay is bad enough if we call this as world best airport.
Twice I got it next day.
