I will also have a 50 min in transit time. Do I have to get of the plane or not ??

Johannesburg-Singapore is on a 777-200ER, the 9V-SV* series with Spacebeds in Business class and AVOD in Economy.

These aircraft are currently being upgraded to match the products found on the 777-300ER and A380, with the super wide Business class seats and the new generation Economy, though the refitted birds primarily fly to Amsterdam.

As for the transit, could you clarify? AFAIK, JNB-SIN is nonstop. If you mean you are transiting in SIN, then yes, you will deplane.

SQ479 goes from CPT-JNB-SIN, not JNB-CPT-SIN so you won't have to deplane anywhere.

Sorry ek&sq. I should have been more specific. I'm flying from johannesburg to Singapore and then to Perth AU. So I won't deplane at Singapore ??

When will the aircraft be upgraded ? And when will we see the finish product. ?

        Thanks for the help !!

Ps How is the economy food on the flight ???

Yes you will have to deplane in SIN as the JNB-SIN & SIN-PER are 2 different flights, with possibly different aircraft.

Some, if not all, of the SIN-PER vv flights are being facilitated with the refitted 772s. Perhaps someone can confirm if ALL of them are - I've only done 4 flights on that route in recent weeks and they have all been on the re-fitted ones.

Just to clarify that 777-200ER is supposed to be refitted with super wide seats and 200 refitted with regional seats?

On my online booking reference the flights show both aircrafts are 777-200. So that does not mean that I will be on the same plane ? Will 50 min be enough to get on the next plane or not ??

Must I collect my baggage from the one plane to the other ??

Will the different flights be in the same terminal ?

                  1. Your JNB-SIN flight will be on the SpaceBed business class configuration (purple seats) and your connecting flight to PER will be on the new regional business class configuration even though they are both 772's. You won't be on the same exact plane. In economy class on the JNB-SIN flight you will have blue-purple seats with a 5" monitor with AVOD. The SIN-PER flight will feature the newly refitted economy class with gold/yellow seats and a 9" monitor also with AVOD.

                  2. You can check your bags all the way through to PER so you won't have to collect them at SIN.

                  3. You will land at T2 from JNB and will have to take the skytrain across to T3 for your onward flight to PER. 50 minutes is ample time.

                  Have a good flight.

You will need to leave the plane and, if by chance, it is the same aircraft out of Terminal 3 at SIN, you will still need to go thru security at the gate before leaving for PER.

You will not need to claim and recheck your luggage. Even if you have to change gates or even terminal, 50 mins will be enough time.

This is not the case as the JNB-SIN flight is operated by the 9V-SV* aircraft as mentioned above by ek&sq and the SIN-PER with either the 9V-SQ* or 9V-SR* aircraft.

Okay. But I posted at exactly the same time as ek&sq. The bit about security is correct, in any case.
