Ive added the links instead because there's just so many pics that its unfair to upload here or on another photo-hosting site.

I hope you all enjoy viewing them as much as I did taking them

Thank you Boeing777 and welcome to SQTalk.
Enjoyed all your pictures. Would you mind telling us how AF and BA compare in service, comfort, IFE etc.?
Would just like to know how they differentiate, since you had experience on both airlines on same route it should make a good comparison.

Thank you for the warm welcome

Being a former BA employee doesnt sway me, so I'll be honest.

Apart from the initial delay, I cant fault BA's Y service. For me though, I wont deny that each time I have been to DXB, I cant pick anyone else anymore except AF.

From LHR to CDG, the flight was great and on time. Staying in the same terminal (2F) to connect to the DXB flight made it all the more easier and have never had any baggage issues.

While the BA flight gets into DXB an hour earlier than than 1315 AF526, I prefer the AF flight because the service is just perfect. Ive never come across such helpful staff

In terms of IFE, well, I spent more time snapping pictures! Id certainly be inclined to state that the 3 class AF Boeing 777-200ER is much more spacious than the 4 class 777-200ER that BA has.

Furthermore, the price was also significant, with AF being nearly £100 cheaper!

        Welcome to SQTalk, Boeing777.
Thanks for the lovely pics of Dubai!

Any food pics? Would be great to compare the inflight catering of both airlines.

And what's the seat pitch of BA Y vs AF Y?

Haven't been on AF much so I'm interested in hearing more about them relative to BA.

Thank you Boeing777. I usually don't hear to many positive things about AF, mostly lost luggage and service issues. I have a lot of experience flying on BA, however mostly in C on longhaul and that is a while ago, but no experience yet whatsoever on AF, but probably will fly with them very soon.

Not sure what the seat pitch is, but I cant confirm that AF's is more spacious. In fact, it doesnt even feel like you're sat in Y.

No food pics, I was too busy gobbling it down!

Again, BA's catering was fine, nothing special, but AF cabin crew kept coming back and asking if I needed more etc- that I think made the service difference for me.

Given the choice, its hard to separate the two carriers. I suspect for people it can be down to route, airplane, price etc.

Wherever possible, I opt for 777 journeys, then price.

Depends on the class of travel for me.

777 is nice for Y on most carriers.
OTOH the BA club world cabins can be a bit of a warehouse on the 777. Like a dormitory. I prefer the club on the 747 for the smaller and more cozy cabins, both upper and main decks.

After suffering the BA Back effect after LHR-HKG on BA Y I now avoid BA in Y. There's just something about BA Y seats that screwed up my back that I haven't experienced in Y on any other carrier. No problems on other BA cabins thankfully.

Funny you mention the BA seats in Y, because I too didnt find it comfortable compared to the AF 777 seats.

IME, VS Y is even more excruciating. That's one cabin where you'll never again find me.

Can't imagine any Y seat that's even worse than BA Y. Took 2 days to recover. So thanks for the heads up. VS Y is off my list now.

There's only One way to fly.... SINGAPORE AIRLINES!
If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways

Thankyou for sharing your trip reports, i really enjoyed looking at your photos taken in Dubai. We really cant wait for T3 to open!

In your BA trip report you have a photo taken just after take off from DXB captioned 'EK Engineering Base'. These hangars have now almost totally been pulled down and construction will start on a new concourse (in addition to T3) at this spot. A new much larger engineering base has been opened on the opposite side of the airport. And directly behind these hangars you can see yet another building under construction. This will become the new EK HQ building and replace the one you photographed in Deira in your AF trip report.
