  • LHR to get fourth daily flight

SQ is adding a fourth flight to LHR from September/October - post Olympics. The fourth flight will be operated with the B773.

SIA will introduce a fourth daily flight between Singapore and London Heathrow from October, providing enhanced travel options to our customers.

SIA currently operates three flights per day between Singapore and London Heathrow, all with Airbus A380s. The additional flight, which will have a late-night departure from Singapore, will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER, also featuring the Airline’s latest cabin products.

The increase in frequency will be carried out progressively, starting the week of 9 September when the number of flights per week will rise to 25 from 21. The full complement of 28 flights per week will take effect from the week of 21 October.

“We have been looking for opportunities to increase our London flights for many years and are pleased that we can now do so, to provide even more travel options to our customers,” said Executive Vice President Commercial Mak Swee Wah.

“Not only are London and Singapore popular destinations in their own right, the additional flights will allow for more convenient connections beyond London to other points in Europe, and beyond Singapore to other points within Asia and South West Pacific.”

Guess they want SQ322/317 to go 38A and the 77W will supplement the shortfall in Y capacity.

Just gone to check on the SQ website for a flight in Nov, to see the timings of this 4th flight but it's not showing anything but the current 3.

Wow, dep 15mins after SQ322. I like the return leg's timing though.

Am not sure if I'm reading it correctly, is this saying that it could also be operated by a 388 instead of the 77W?

                wow …. 24 weekly flights with A380 .

And, where are they going to pull the 77W from? and with a long layover in LHR, at least 1 must be pulled from the current rotation even for this 4 weekly flights.

Isn't it going to cost alot to leave your aircraft sitting idle at LHR for 14-hrs?
And are the LHR flights often 90% full to justify the 4th daily flight?

if this is true, it would be a very nice long stay for the 777 tech crew

Interesting timings on 305 after the 28th, 306 seems just plain nasty, but then I'm a day flight kinda guy.

Wasn't there a 77W used on the route before it was recently replaced with the A380? Maybe its come from there and after the Olympics they will redeploy it.

Perhaps they're sending it to AMS?
