There is no incentive for the hotel to grant you the upgrade unless they are running low on rooms, and it depends on your status with the hotel/chain. On the contrary, you will be charged published rate for the upgrade which doesn't necessary work in your favour especially if you have gotten your room ar a promotional rate.Originally posted by lingua101 View PostComment

If you don't book the club floor room in advance, you risk these rooms being sold out when you arrive.
Also, some hotels will upgrade you to club lounge access without necessarily giving you a room on the club floor while others might upgrade you to a club floor room without giving you lounge access. You should think about what features you really want or need.Comment
